Manual Handling

The Manual Handling course will give participants a basic understanding of the factors necessary to ensure their own safety and that of their work colleagues. This manual handling training course is based upon the principles of safe moving and handling of loads known as the 'kinetic' approach to manual handling.

At the conclusion of the course, delegates will have an understanding of safe manual handling principles and posses the skills to avoid the dangers of careless and unskilled manual handling. Our Manual Handling course is aimed at anyone who undertakes manual handling operations, and as it is very interactive, it is advised that delegates are reasonably fit and able to take part in the majority of practical handling activities and wear suitable clothing.

    Each delegate on the Manual Handling course will be issued with a workbook to assist them both during and after the course, which will contain information, guidance and forms to assist workers. The Manual Handling course is designed to be interactive, allowing delegates the opportunity to develop their skills with the support of the course tutor through both manual handling theory and practical exercises.

    Our health and safety consultants are qualified and experienced health and safety professionals with an appropriate background in this topic and in delivring engaging health and safety training. All consultants hold professional membership of the chartered Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

    Course Duration

    The Manual Handling course will be delivered over one day.


    Delegates will be awarded a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the Manual Handling course. Certificates will be issued to participants who satisfactorily demonstrate that they are able to follow the principles taught on the course through practical exercises.
