Why do I need to be in a suitable job role to take the NVQ Level 5 in Health and Safety?
A health and safety NVQ qualification is ideal for those who wish to achieve a formal health and safety qualification but do not have the time available to attend a classroom-based health and safety training course like the NEBOSH General Certificate (it is not recommended to take accredited qualifications in another format such as distance learning or online/e-learning - click here to read why not). The NVQ Level 5 in Health and Safety is by far our most popular NVQ qualification.
Unlike a training course, a health and safety NVQ does not teach any information to a delegate, but instead incorporates the collection of evidence as the means of achieving the qualification. This obviously means that those wishing to enrol will have to be in a suitable job role which allows them to gather such evidence. This is an issue which many people forget when they see an NVQ qualification advertised, as they like the fact that it can be completed around their workplace requirements and that there are no exams to take. But without being in a suitable job role it is simply not possible for them to take the NVQ Level 5 in Health and Safety or indeed any other NVQ qualification.
A suitable job role will be one in which the person has a direct responsibility for developing and implementing the health and safety policies of the organisation. Our assessors will ensure that you are in a job which will enable you to collect the necessary portfolio of evidence for you to achieve the NVQ qualification before we take any money from you, which is in stark contrast to many other health and safety training providers out there.

Need an Accredited Course?
Along with designing bespoke health and safety training programmes, we also run the accredited NEBOSH, IOSH and ConstructionSkills (CSkills) health and safety courses as open courses at selected venues across the UK, as well as in-house for those companies who have a number of employees requiring the training, as it will be much more cost effective than sending them all onto a scheduled open course.
For more information please call 0115 984 9940 to discuss the options or send us an online contact form. Alternatively, use the "Courses" menu at the top of the page to view the courses and qualifications for the various awarding bodies.
These courses form the basis for our in-house training programmes. They can either be run as they are if the outline is exactly what you want, or can be be modified to suit the individual requirements of your organisation. Two or more can also be combined to tailor a bespoke training session for you.
