No Need to Travel with an NVQ Level 5 Health and Safety
A primary advantage of the NVQ Level 5 Health and Safety qualification is the fact that there is no need for a person to travel anywhere. Not only does this mean that they do not need to take time off of work in order to attend a health and safety training course, as they actually gather the required portfolio of evidence whilst performing their normal workplace duties, but there is also no need for them to spend additional money on travel and accommodation.
On a traditional classroom based training course if they live near the venue they would still have to pay each day for petrol if they came by car, taxi fares or public transport costs. If the course is run over many days this can soon add up. Similarly if the course is being run at a venue which is not near enough to their home in order to travel there and back each day, they will need to stay somewhere close to the venue. For a course like the NEBOSH General Certificate which is run over eleven days including the exams, or, even more costly, those attending Many people looking to obtain health and safety qualifications therefore are seriously considering NVQs such as the Level 3 or the Level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety. Because they are vocational qualifications which are achieved through the collection and submission of evidence gathered whilst performing a job, only those who are in a suitable position are able to enrol. If they are not, they will need to take a health and safety training course such as the NEBOSH General Certificate instead which teaches them information as opposed to collecting evidence.
Need an Accredited Course?
Along with designing bespoke health and safety training programmes, we also run the accredited NEBOSH, IOSH and ConstructionSkills (CSkills) health and safety courses as open courses at selected venues across the UK, as well as in-house for those companies who have a number of employees requiring the training, as it will be much more cost effective than sending them all onto a scheduled open course.
For more information please call 0115 984 9940 to discuss the options or send us an online contact form. Alternatively, use the "Courses" menu at the top of the page to view the courses and qualifications for the various awarding bodies.
These courses form the basis for our in-house training programmes. They can either be run as they are if the outline is exactly what you want, or can be be modified to suit the individual requirements of your organisation. Two or more can also be combined to tailor a bespoke training session for you.
